Popular Bibliographies

Ivanhoe

Ed. note: in 1998 I attended a conference at which Kelly DeVries was presenting paper on gunpowder weaponry during the Wars of the Roses. We talked a bit about this series of popular bibliographies; the made-for-TV Ivanhoe had recently been released. DeVries jotted down the books that, in his estimation, would make good reading for a general reader whose imagination had been caught by the themes in Ivanhoe.

Two years later, in spring 2000, I have finally put this online. I am hopeful that Kelly DeVries, whom I have e-mailed this bibliography, may have a chance to review it and update it with any books that have been published in the intervening period.--Laura Blanchard
